A strong family is the top priority for me. I met my wife at age 17, and we married young. Tara and I have since grown a life together, including 5 kids who rarely slow down. I strive to be a caring husband and engaged dad, including (among a few roles) as a coach for my kids' mountain bike team. We camp, bike, climb, ski, and stay active year-round from our home base in Minnesota.

A passion for exploration & adventure has shaped my career and my life. I've trekked to Mount Everest ⛰️ and climbed volcanos in Iceland. I've run a dozen marathons and ultras up to 50 miles long. From ice climbs in Montana (photo above) to 24+ hour wilderness feats, the outdoors has always inspired and served as a proving grounds for me to push limits in adventure sports.
